Crisp-LaDew Comprehensive MIC Testing

Treatment of all sprinkler systems is completed by treating each riser with a proprietary chemical treatment process. All chemical treatment products will be injected into each riser thru the permanent chemical feed system. This treatment process will be completed by Laboratory personnel with the installed permanent treatment system. This system is designed specifically for Fire Protection System (FPS) Treatments. The patented treatment system will automatically control the ratio of chemical feed based on flow and pressure. As a riser is filled, pressure increases and the flow decreases. Flow will stop when the riser is full. Consistent control of the treatment products is critical to assuring the proper treatment of each system.

During the treatment, personnel will complete testing at all drain points to verify the proper concentration of products has been applied throughout each system.  The treated water will remain in the systems after the treatment application is completed to the wet systems. The dry systems will be drained down after the treatment process is completed.

The installation of Corrosion Coupons ensures the performance of the treatment program. It is the most proven method of testing corrosion potential. The American Society of Corrosion Engineers has developed test method ASTM-G4-84 specifically testing iron pipes in plants and building. This test reports the corrosion rates and types of corrosion observed by microscopic photograph analysis.  With proper routine maintenance, typical treated sprinkler systems could see life expectanciescess of 100 years while treated.
